Final piece idea

This is the idea for my final piece, I have the seashells on the head to link in with my theme headress and also to link into the theme sea scape. The face will be a mixture of blue and green to fit in with my trail piece and the hair the same colour hair but expanded the whole way out and dark around the edges. I will also have different linking ideas Of sea scale like sea horses and star fish
These are the images I will use to paint from and to follow the colours they are to look more realistic

Tonal study

This is a tonal study of the image I used in my final piece
I then photocopied and expanded black ink to make into a type of headress. This could be based on the artist from the broad ways little mermaid creator of the fish headdress which are wire and have hinges enabling them to move

Mono-print

This is the mono print of the image used in my final piece
I then photo copied and used it to create head dress designs with cut up shell pictures to link it into my sea theme

Artist research

These are sea themed head dress taken from the little mermaid these have hinges to allow movement to create a even more movement through

Shells from glue gun

Coloured in to make then stand out and could be used to fill in the back of headdress for even create a small headress idea made fully out of glue

Raipun artist research

This is my photoshop piece of the artist christiane vleugels (Raipun) who creates very realistic painting portraits using oil paints. Some of which follow my sea theme

Cut outs with the scalpel

This a piece which is very delicate and could be involved on the head piece to fill in the extra space
I did one of a ice cream which links in with my sea theme and would go either in the additional space of my painting or on the back part of my headpiece

Design ideas 1

I first found a picture of a mr whippy ice cream which usually have connotations of a beach environment and association of the seaside
Then the star fish and shells which are also found on the beaches everywhere and give the pleasant idea of being at the beach.
This is the finished design 1 in black and white I will next add different colours. Added back grounds onto the head piece and the test different materials

My own and Internet photography

These are my own photography for seascape
These are a collage of Internet images which fit in with my sea scape

This is my semi final piece

My semi-final research piece is focused on the sea theme with shells made out of plaster of Paris and a mod rock base. The shell behind is also made of modrock and painted the similar colours to the original shells

Research into different styles of headdress - Philip treacy

Philip treacy uses many form of different headdresses with his main style really just a bit of the weird and wonderful he uses all types of shapes, colour, fabric to make all his headdresses. In this one he uses abstract shapes to show more of a lightening effect.
This piece includes a much lighter an more mouldable fabric which creates a more down to earth hand more focusing on wearable fashion.
This looks more like the type which are the original Indian headdresses. The feather like shape in the n form around the face with also involving a bird. This is much like the Indian very high view on nature and animals.

Introduction

Welcome to my blog! This blog is acting as a collection of my research, ideas, designs and photography. I will be exploring the theme of HEADDRESS for my GCSE Art Unit 2 project. I have decided to assign myself a subtheme of 'Coast'. I will be using the coast as inspiration for my Headdresses, as well as cultural interpretations of Headdresses.
